Minsk to mull transit of Kazakh oil to Belarus with Russia
NUR-SULTAN, Oct 25 (PRIME) -- Minsk expects consultations on oil transit from Kazakhstan to Belarus to be held with Russia very soon, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko told reporters on Friday following his negotiations with Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
“We’ve agreed to hold consultations with Russia very soon, as transit of Kazakh oil will be done by pipeline transport through the territory of Russia if possible. I think we will agree on that,” he said.
Kazakh Energy Minister Kanat Bozumbayev told reporters that the two countries agreed on the main parameters of the accord on exports of Kazakh oil and oil products to Belarus. The parameters only cover conditions and regulations of supplies, not the amount of exports, and Minsk also agreed to refrain from re-exports, he said.
